When something goes wrong

Tell us which game, where you got it (App Store or Steam), your device and its system version (for example iPhone 15 with iOS 18, a Mac with macOS 15, or a Windows 11 PC), and what happened just before the problem. A screenshot or a short screen recording helps a lot. If a game's section below lists anything else to send, include that too.

Refunds

The store you bought from handles refunds. For the App Store, use reportaproblem.apple.com. For Steam, use Steam Support.

Our games collect no personal information. The details are in our privacy policy.

Cleanup on Aisle 3

How do I play?

Move with the arrow keys or WASD, or with the left stick. Space or E (A on a controller) does almost everything: it picks things up, puts them down, stocks shelves and uses whatever you are standing next to. While carrying a crate, hold the button to aim a throw and let go to send it. Shift (B) dashes. Esc or Start pauses, and the menus also work with a mouse. Settings lets you rebind moving, the action button and dash on keyboard and controller. The game pauses itself when you switch to another window, open the Steam overlay or a controller disconnects.

Can I play with a friend?

Yes, two of you on one screen. Player 2 needs a controller: at Store Select, or on the screen between days, they hold A on a free controller until the ring fills. Player 1 can use a controller too, or stay on the keyboard; two players cannot share one keyboard. The hired staff take co-op days off, so the store is all yours. Player 2 can leave from the pause menu and heads home at the end of that day. To play with a friend online, use Steam Remote Play Together; only the host needs to own the game.

Does my demo progress carry over?

On the same computer, yes. The full game reads the demo's save, so you carry on from where the demo left you.

I got fired and the store started over

That is ValuCo policy: a firing sends you back to day 1 of that store. Stores you have already cleared stay cleared, and the hats and achievements you have earned stay yours.

An achievement did not show up on Steam

Achievements and leaderboards go through your Steam account. If you earn an achievement while Steam is offline, the game keeps it and passes it to Steam the next time you finish a day with Steam running.

Where is my progress saved?

On your computer, and in Steam Cloud, which carries it to any computer you play on. Settings stay on each computer. The save folder is:

• Windows: %APPDATA%\Godot\app_userdata\Cleanup on Aisle 3
• macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Godot/app_userdata/Cleanup on Aisle 3
• Linux and Steam Deck: ~/.local/share/godot/app_userdata/Cleanup on Aisle 3

These folders are hidden by default. On Windows, paste the path into the address bar of File Explorer. On a Mac, choose Go to Folder from Finder's Go menu and paste it there.

Sending a bug report

Along with the details above, include the version number from the bottom-left corner of the title screen (it starts with a v). The game keeps a log of each session in the logs folder inside the save folder; godot.log is the most recent one, and attaching it often shows exactly what went wrong.

What does it run on?

Windows, macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) and Linux, including Steam Deck. The system requirements are on its Steam page. On a Steam Deck or an older laptop, lowering Shadows or Render scale in Settings helps it run smoothly. The game is in English.

The text is too small, or the screen moves too much

Settings has four text sizes, a high-contrast mode, a colorblind palette, and a colored ring under each player so you can always find yours. You can turn off screen shake, or turn on Reduce motion, which also drops the camera cutaways and steadies the camera. Music, sound effects and rumble each have their own setting, and the stick deadzone is adjustable.

How do I play?

There is one button, and it flaps. On iPhone and iPad, tap anywhere on the screen. On a Mac or PC, press the space bar or click; any face button on a game controller works too, and Settings lets you add a second flap key. Esc, Start or the menu button in the bottom-right corner pauses a run, and a run also pauses when you switch away from the game.

Leaderboards and achievements are not showing up

On iPhone, iPad and Mac, they go through Apple's Game Center, so you need to be signed in to Game Center (in Settings on iPhone and iPad, in System Settings on Mac). On Steam, they go through your Steam account. The game's own Leaderboards screen always shows your ten best runs on that device, by score and by distance.

Will my progress move to my other devices?

On the App Store, your best runs, rank and the looks you have earned are kept on each device and do not move between them. Game Center keeps your leaderboard scores and achievements on every device signed in to it. On Steam, Steam Cloud carries your best runs and rank to any computer you play on.

Do I have to buy it again for my iPad or Mac?

No. One App Store purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. To install it on another device, open the App Store, go to your account and find High Lance under Purchased. A Steam copy is a separate purchase.

What does it run on?

iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. The Mac App Store version needs a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 14 or later. The Steam version runs on Windows, macOS (Apple silicon and Intel) and Linux, including Steam Deck.

The text is too small, or I want fewer flashes

Settings has three text sizes, a closer camera on smaller screens, a Reduce flashing option, and separate volumes for music and sound effects.
